About
Becoming a Registered Remedial Massage Therapist has been an evolving journey for me over the past five years. From the beginning, I’ve had the privilege of learning from both Western injury-focused practitioners and Eastern Chinese Medicine practitioners. This blend of approaches has taught me that true healing happens when we treat both the body holistically.
Over the years, I’ve discovered that combining Remedial Massage with Acupressure creates a powerful supportive approach to wellness. It’s not just about releasing tension—it’s about restoring balance to your nervous system and connecting more deeply with the body’s innate wisdom.
My own healing journey has been a big part of shaping the way I work. After struggling with a long-term ankle injury and trying physio, chiro and an osteopath, it was a single acupuncture session that cracked everything open. My ankle went from improving incrementally to the release of extremely stiff fascia after a single acupuncture treatment. That experience shifted my entire understanding of how fascia and the nervous system respond not just to pressure, but to presence, patience, and care.
Curious and inspired, I immersed myself in an Acupressure course just outside Byron Bay. The teachings, the energy, and the community there completely expanded how I now approach my practice. I began exploring the connections between body, emotion, and consciousness—how our cells hold memories, how our fascia tells stories, and how deep healing begins when we work with both the body and the subconscious mind.
This path has led me to the work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk’s ‘The Body Keeps Score’ and Gabor Mate’s work ‘The Myth of Normal’, affirming what I’ve felt intuitively: that how we think, feel, and move through the world matters more than we realise.
I believe a result of these experiences my growth emotionally and professionally has accelerated and deepened my understanding of the human experience.
Therefore, allowing me to support clients not only physically but on an emotional level that I never thought was possible with remedial massage.
